Number Poems
The following poems are helpful when the children are learning to form their numbers correctly. This can be a challenging small motor task and these fun poems assist in the mind connecting to your child's hand when making their numbers. Practice can be done with pencil/crayon/markers/sidewalk chalk/ shaving cream on the shower wall! Once they master writing these numbers they will be able to write 0-100 and beyond! Mrs. Meyer
Zero- Around and round you go
and a 0's what you know!
One- Straight line down I've just begun
That's the way we make a 1!
Two- Around and over's what you do
that's the way we make a 2!
Three- Around the tree-around the tree
that's the way we make a 3!
Four- Down and over-then down some more
That's the way we make a 4!
Five- Long neck-belly fat
Number 5 wears a hat!
Six- Around in a loop
and a 6 makes a hoop!
Seven- Straight across slide down when heaven
that's the way we make a 7!
Eight- Make an S and the go straight
that's the way we make an 8!
Nine- Make a circle then a line
that's the way we make a 9!
