All of these concepts will be introduced slowly one or two letters at a time with a small group of sight words and a word family once we have our vowels.
The letters in order we will practice formation of and sounds they make are:
Mm--Ss--Rr--Tt--Nn--Aa--Pp--Cc--Dd--Ii--Bb--Ff--Gg--Kk--Oo-Ll-Hh-Ww-Xx-Ee-Vv-Jj-Yy-Zz-Uu-Qq
*Word Families- -at words -an words -ap words
-it words -ip words --ig words -ot words -op words -ox words -ix words
-ed words -en words -et -eg -un -ut -ug -ut
The sight words we will work on seeing and knowing without sounding them out phonetically are:
I--a--my--the--go--he--come--this--here--me--for--where--look--one--see--what--two--do--your--up--down--we--want--out--who--are--they--she--good--and--there--give--little--that--have
**My additions-she /we
As we have a strong use for a word I will be adding it to Spelling Lists or Sight Words. They might not be on the ST list but are very important and reasonable to introduce at this level.
Look for various games to come home that are a fun way to practice both letters and sight words.
