The purpose of the contract is to make students and guardians aware of what is expected in this class.  Please read carefully and sign below.

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND RULES:

1. SUPPLIES

 Students will be prepared for class at all times. All suggested supplies (notebook, pencils, work packets, workbook, and chromebook) are to be brought to class everyday unless otherwise noted.

2. ATTENDANCE

Your attendance in class is necessary to understand and learn the objectives.  Please find a “class buddy” and exchange phone numbers, so that you may call him/her if you are absent, to inquire about the day’s lesson and complete any assignments.  Absence is no excuse for not having your work. If you are absent for two or more days, please contact your guidance counselor to request your assignments and have a family member pick them up.  Assignments will also be posted on Google classroom and/or my website. It is always the student’s responsibility to collect and complete missing assignments.

3. HOMEWORK

Homework will be assigned daily. Immediately upon entering the classroom student must present homework to instructor to receive credit. No late assignments will be collected for credit. Homework is 15% of your student final grade.

4. TESTS

A minimum of four tests will be given each marking period. When you are absent for a few days, an appointment will be made to make-up any test given.  Tests not made-up will result in a ZERO. Student has one week upon return from absent to make up a missed assessment. Tests cannot be made up during class time. Test are 70% of your student final grade.

5. CHEATING

If you are caught cheating or using cell phone you will receive a ZERO.

6. CUTTING

If you cut class, you will receive a ZERO for that day, including test days.  NO make-ups.

7. GRADING

Tests - 70% (this may also include projects)

Quizzes - 15%  (pop, announced, take-home)

Homework - 15%

8. CELL PHONES

Cell phones are PROHIBITED. Cell phones should be off and not visible.  If a student has a cellphone visible during a graded assessment, a student will receive no credit.

9. COMPUTERS

All students are expected to bring chromebook fully charged each and every day.

10. CONDUCT

Good behavior is essential to success in education. Students will be graded based on the classroom guidelines and Bayonne Board of Education handbook.

 

*A.M. and Lunch Math tutorial is available for extra help.  Location will be posted.

 

ALL RULES IN BHS HANDBOOK WILL BE ENFORCED.
