Welcome back Vikings!!!!!

To all students, parents and guardians welcome to the 2017-2018 school year.  I am looking forward to a fun, safe and competitive year in Health and Physical Education.  The Vikings will be participating in many activities this year.  Some activities that we have participated in before will be back again such as soccer, football, baseball, roller skating, and rock climbing.  Something new I would like to try is a gymnastics unit which will be accessible to all grade levels as well as a fun and competitive obstacle course.  In just one week we will be starting our annual Physical Fitness testing.

Within the health classes 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will begin the year  being educated and informed on," Drug Use and Abuse."  Towards the end of the marking period or possibly at the beginning of the 2nd marking period all previous mentioned grades will be asked to research and present a randomly chosen illegal drug.  This is a project that will inform their classmates on the dangerous effects illegal drugs can have on their mind, body and future as a successful role model.

Once again I look forward to a wonderful school year and one thing I ask of the parents in the younger grades is to please help your child remember their sneakers on Physical Education days.

   Thank you, and Best Regards,

         Mr. Klag
